Pig Demonstration Farm

We are delighted to announce that the first sow at our pig demonstration farm has given birth to 12 healthy piglets.

We demonstrate how to keep pigs in a safe and healthy fashion and as a result we have a large litter of pigs.

As a business, breeding pigs can be very lucrative for a household if done well and we hope our efforts will inspire others.

World Education Week - 4th - 8th October 2021

Education is recognised as the best tool to beat poverty and create stronger and more equal communities, yet for many communities there are many hurdles that prevent young people can access it. Aside from distance, this would include being too hungry to pay attention all day, it could be that classrooms are so over crowded that students get ignored when they don’t understand something, it can be that the toilets are so awful that you fear using them, this can be especially important for young girls. Edible Garden Progress Report 2020

Through the programme families are enabled to grow their own organic vegetables, creating a supplementary income stream, whilst also reducing household expenditure on, and the time burden of, buying fresh produce for the family. This, combined with training on diet, health and hygiene, supports families to improve household nutrition and to better meet their needs every day.
