Training the few to benefit the many

Over the next five years, we want to provide agricultural training to as many people as possible. In this way, the knowledge and skills we have will be shared for the benefit of the many.

Smallholder Farmer Training

In 2019, we plan to scaled our agricultural training up and out, making it more accessible to a greater number of smallholder farmers. Our aims are ambitious - yet very achievable: By the end of 2019 we will have: -

  • trained 225 farmers in the Managhat Community, impacting over 1500 people
  • trained 40 farmers in the Waangwaray Community, impacting on 280 people
  • trained 80 farmers in the Malangi Community

We are currently redesigning the training model, moving away from centralised training and towards more cluster training methods.

Edible Gardens

In the next five years, we will continue to expand our Edible Gardens Programme.

By 2022, we hope to cover ten communities, training 30 households in the process.

These households will each train another ten households - meaning that 300 households will have access to Edible Gardens within five years' time.
