Celebration of Success at Sawe

One of the first things we had the pleasure of being invited to when we arrived in Babati was a celebration day at Sawe primary school.

It was a privilege to be part of this public display of their success. There were certificates for teachers whose students had achieved 100% and students that had A grades. This wonderful moment of recognition all brought about because of years of work and effort on the part of the community. We are so proud of what has been achieved and look forward to working in partnership the them going forward.

In a meeting with teachers and community leaders we discussed some of the challenges they now face. With success comes popularity. More and more children are wanting to come to the school. There were 500 households in the area a couple of years ago, now there are 700. In the younger age groups there are challenges with numbers of children they need to fit in their classrooms (they aim for 45) and there aren’t enough desks.

The school will be striving, in the coming years, to remove all lower grade pass marks. We know they have the dedication to get there.

Thank you to everyone who supported LTT in this partnership.

Below we have some pictures and messages from the day.

1 certificate for MCDO, 1 for LTT and 1 for all of the donors and supporters!
