Girls' toilets at Komoto Secondary School, Babati

In December 2018 we took part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. The challenge was to raise the funds to support the community as they seek to address issues around equal access to education.

The girls’ toilets at Komoto were a barrier to equal access because they lacked any facilities to support girls when they were menstruating. The lack of water, hand and clothes washing facilities, the lack of privacy, the lack of space and the difficulty in keeping them clean just meant that as toilets they were not conducive and girls missed class because of it.

With the help of a fantastic group of people we worked with the community to bring about change, and we hope you like the changes that you have been part of. We know the girls are truly delighted and hugely grateful.

Thank you
