Progress at Sawe Sept 22

LTT and the Sawe community were thrilled to be awarded a grant in June to build 4 classrooms. The day after we informed the community leaders they organised for the town engineers and school development committee leaders to agree the exact location of the foundations and the digging started straight away!

As with all projects of this nature the community’s contribution is to dig and build the foundations and then supply the bricks to build the walls to head height. This demonstrates to us their commitment and we finish it off.

By the end of August, the 4 classrooms were built, the roof was on, the walls were being plastered, and the fixtures and fittings had been ordered. It is so incredibly beautiful to see a partnership so strong and the results of it emerging into what will surely be the best government primary school in the entire Manyara Region.

We expect to complete the work and be ready well in advance of the new academic year in January 2023.

After this we have just 3 more classrooms to build and this school will be completed, which is amazing.

The Big Give Christmas Appeal this year will be kickstarting that campaign, which we really hope you will support
